BUDGET OF THE SOVIET
FIVE YEAR PLAN EXPENSES. ESTIMATE EXCEEDED GREATLY. (United Press Association—By Elect Tic Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11.30 p.m to-day. MOSCOW, Jan. 27. The Finance Commissar, Grinko, in presenting the Budget said that under the five-year plan, the Soviet invested 126 milliards of roubles on the construction, programme instead of 88 millions originally provided. All money was obtained from the Soviet’s own resources. Over 49,000,000 people were receiving State aid and part maintenance to assist them in studies. Five per cent, of the Budget was devoted to defence.
