WAND A NUT BOARD MEETING WORK OF' THE MONTH The first meeting of the new year was held by the Wanganui Education Board on Wednesday. There were present Messrs E. F. Hemingway (chairman), J. Aitken, W. T. Benefield, P. Munro, R. Dukeson, J. K. Hornblow, A. S. Coleman, M. H. Oram, and Col. W]hvte. ' ARCHITECTS REPORT In (he report .submitted by the architect, the following items of interest to the South Taranaki district were mentioned:
Kakaramea. —A. new 60Q gallon squat tank liras been provided to the teacher’s residence. To augment the water supply a connection has been made to the school supply tanks which provide an abundance of water by a- connection to a, ram supply. Klohi. —Two new tanks (Wave been provided .to the teacher’s residence, and minor repairs to the buildings offoctccl. Waverley.—Repairs to the road line fence of the liorse paddock have been effected. „„„ SCBOOD MATTERS The head teacher at Hurleyville asked for the installation of electric light at his residence and the request was ranted on the usual terms, the residents to pay one-third of the cost. The Whcniuakura ' committee asked 'or a new school and the chairman said that it had been placed upon, the 'ist of urgent works but since then the expenses of such works had had to be stopped.
