EGMONT BOX COMPANY.
In view of the recent Palmerston North conference and its decisions, special interest attaches to. a meeting of shareholders of the Egmont Box Company to bo held on Monday. Since this company’s finances and management were reconstructed along lines recommended by a special committee of investigation, it has made rapid progress towards commercial solidity and it is evident, even at this early stage of its new existence, that pot only 'has the rate of loss been' arrested, but shareholders have been saved from the prospect of further calls upon their capital. On Monday the new board of directors will meet the shareholders and seek endorsement of the policy they have adopted with a view, not only to ensuring the best interests of the company, but with the purpose of giving the best service, as they ,see it, to the cheese industry. The new board, which was elected for the .specific purpose of carrying out -the company’s new policy, have the right to expect a good attendance of shareholders at Monday’s .meeting for the purpose of discussing the plan which has been devised by the board and the management, assisted by their financial and other advisers.
