SIR STENSON COOKE

NEW YEAR HONOUR CONFERRED
Motorists throughout the Empire must surely i’eel gratified to know that the New Year honours included the name of Major (now Sir) Stcnson Cooke, who, as the secretary of the Automobile Association of Groat Britain, is known to motorists the world over. Comparatively few persons, however, realise just how much no has accomplished, not only in the interests of British motorists, but also in the field of international touring.
The motoring community here will also learn with gratification that the Alliance Internationale dc Tonrisme, which is the world’s most powerful group of touring associations and clubs, with an aggregate membership of more than several million members, has honoured Sir •Stcnson by electing him a vice-president.
The Wellington Automobile Club entertains the closest and most cordial relationship with the Automobile Association of Great Britain, and to have the assistance of the most dynamic personality in modern automobilism is an added assurance that Now Zealand motorists travelling abroad will enjoy the benefit of efficient touring service and will have their interests adequately safieg.-uardod in every way.
