Received 2.35 p.m., to-day. 3-PAIIIS, Jan. 25, The most astonishing art exhibition in history closed:' after business valued at 2,500,000 francs as a benefit to needy craftsmen. Nothing wais sold. Every' picture, statue and objet d’art' was bartered for goods. One artist secured a motor ear in exchange for a picture. Another secured several dozen bottles or chablis. A surgeon is to give a free operation and a physician a year’s free attendance. The salon des exchanges lias been so successful that it will be repeated in 1934.
