PROTECTION OF DAIRYING
VELLS EXPORT RESTRICTION. REQUESTS IN MANAWATU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ Jan. 26, At a meeting of dairy factory interests 30 delegates, representing cooperative dairy factories, adopted a resolution urging that for the protection of the industry, the export of veils ho prohibited for the coining season and export in future years be subject to a special license and only for supplies in excess of the industry's requirements. It was also urged that the Scientific and Industrial Research Department set up a standards’ department whereby dairy factory requisites in future may be procured on a specification conforming with the minimum standards laid down by the Department.
The meeting was unanimous that wherever possible British goods should be purchased and that the principle of co-operative buying should he observed by companies.
