NEW ZEALAND GOLD
SALES TO BANK. AND EXPORT BIG INCREASE IN VENDORS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLING TON, Jan. 26. In a return released by the Minister of Mines, the Hon. G. E. Macmillan, it is shown that the amount of gold sold to the banks during the last year was 165,827 ounces valued at £706,595. Although the figures showing the exports of gold from the Dominion f(u the period are not available they will approximate very closely the value of the gold sold to the banks. The number of individuals selling gold increased from 79 two years ago to 11CS in Deember. 1932, and it is anticipated this year’s export of gold will be £1,000,000.
