THE CUT RATE PROVIDERS LTD. OPENING OF VICTORIA STREET ARCADE. The opening of the Victoria Street Arcade, Hawera, of the Cut Rate Providers Ltd. marks another milestone m the progress of this enterprising firm. Some twelve years ago a small shop was opened some distance from the shopping area in Union Street. From this small beginning was destined the huge business- which the proprietor, Mi G. • Horsburgh, now controls as* managing director of the Cut Rate Providers Ltd From the few hundred square feet of floor space which the original small business allowed, the business has grown to five shops—three in Hawera and one each in Alanaia and. Eltham. of which the largest, the Main Shop in High Street, covers an area of- 01/u square feet of floor space. Included in this huge space, crammed with goods in orderly array, is I-. 00 square feet in the Victoria Street Arcade section to be opened to the public to-morrow. With its rosewood coloured fittings, latest pattern glass tray display counters and island stands for the better display of the larger garments, the whole of this department is devoted to drapery and mercery. In a v-cll lighted and airy shop the customer will have the greatest facility for examining the goods with which the fixtures, in themselves a feature, of the establishment, are stocked with full lines. The opening of this auxiliary department should see crowds of happy shoppers thronging the counters and should tend, also, to ease the parking troubles in High Street, as may park their cars in Victoria Street and do the whole of their general shopping in the one building. It must convey an intense satisfaction to the founder of this great enterprise that the vision, of years ago has at last been realised and the slogan, famous throughout Taranaki —and even further afield —was not coined in vain. “Cheerio!
