BELFAST, Nov. 17. One of the most- remarkable demonstrations of affection the Prince of Wales has ever experienced was given at Hillsborough where lie is staying at Government House. The Prince, when dining with the Duke q-f Abercorn (Governor-General of Northern Ireland) suddenly decided to visit the adjoining village. Hatless and ©oatless the . Prince at first was unnoticed as lie mingled with the crowd. Then he was enthusiastically mobbed by hundreds of villagers. With difficulty 'they made a path for him to the war memorial, where many drumming parties were performing. The Prince delighted the crowd by borrowing a. drumstick and heating a drum himself for some minutes. He then struggled back to Government House and climbed the wall from where he, addressed the crowd. Finally he jumped ‘back to the Vice-R.ega‘l grounds, the crowd remaining chee.i--nig outside until midnight.
