HAWERA. TRACK NOTES

Trainers were again afforded ideal conditions for training purposes at the Hawera racecourse this morning and the work of horses with close engagements was watched with interest.

The Hawera trainer, J. Fryer, who has just returned from a trip to Australia, lost no- time in getting into his stride, and galloped his horses on AVednesday morning and the forward members of his team —Attentive, March Alone, Chief Line, Icier, Green Linnet-, the Hunting Song filly and the AYeatliervane gelding were - all given useful exercise work. Garfex, after trotting a round, did a solid round of half to three-quarter pace work over a mile. Orby’s Choice and the two-year-old Rapper galloped half a mile on the grass’,'Orby’s Choice finishing - in front in 51 sec, doing his task in good style. Owing to transport difficulty Orby’s Choice will not be a runner at the AVaika.to meeting. j On the plough Aga Khan, Little Doubt and Constant Sun bad an interesting work out over seven furlongs, running the first three furlongs in 40 see and the lust half mile in 53sec, thus taking 1.33 for the journey. Aga Khan was- going nicely at- the finish and was half a length in front of Little Doubt with Constant Sun two lengths further back. Hampden and Aliss Cavendish were again mates over five furlongs, Hampden finishing a. neck in front in 1.3 after running the first three furlongs in 37isec.

Royal ■ Papa was going easily in front of Calamine at, the end of four furlongs run in 52see. La- Crown went at three-quarter pace over five furlongs. Awaken, was going better than Tentcall at the end of seven furlongs in 1.3-11, the first half mile occupying 52-1 see.

Lady Bent was given trotting exercise only. Callapat, after trotting a., round, came home the last half mile of the second lap in 52.1 see. Peschiera. got inside 3Ssec for three furlongs and Golden ITair broke 39sec for a similar journey on the trial grass.
