The weekly quotation for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of -wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb, of of quarters,of beef delivered to Smith-field market and/or ex London stores. They are compiled by the quotations committee, Smithfield. To arrive at the equivalent ex ship values add one farthing per lb. to the value quoted below. Quotations given represent an average for the week, and are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on offer.
