Atlantic in easy stages in a Sikorsky amphibian, took off from Hopedale (Labrador) for Godthaad (Greenland) at 10.30 a.m. to-day (eastern standard time). According .to wireless advices they arrived at GodtJhaard at 7 p.m. The “Flving Hutchinson Family consists of Mr George Hutchison, who is pilot, his wife and then- two daughters. Blanche Kathryn is aged eight and Janet Lee is six. Their huge amphibian, The Flying Family, has eight aboard altogether, including a mechanic, a. wireless operator, a navigator and a cameraman. The flight- is attracting the attention of all America, and Mrs Hutchinson admits she has received many protests from all kinds of people against the parents taking the two little girls with them “on such a dangerous flight.” “But I try not to pay any attention to them,” she says. “We have visited every State- in the United States, and we liave flown thousands of miles without mishap. We will just jog along across the Atlantic, the same as anywhere else—no hurry whatever. We will just wait for good flying weather, flv a few hundred miles and then rest some more. The children are very excited at the prospect of seeing Eskimos. They will have their nap every day in the ’plane’s lounge. We shall bo* O.K. it’s just, our way of seeing the world.”
