Dear, Sir —In reply to your letter of 3rd nit., asking me, as one of your earlier pupils, what my present opinion of physical culture is. I should like to say that I never did a better thing for myself from the physical and health point of view than joining your school of physical culture in Wanganui thirty years ago proved to be. As you know r followed the system to some purpose, winning the . Sandow Gold Medal in 190(5. In addition I took up various branches of sport. For about twentyfive years I was never out of training and never missed my daily routine of exercise. I was told again and again that I should suffer in after life from over-training, but so far I have not noticed any ill-effects. When I was 50 I got a doctor to overhaul me and ho certified that I was perfectly sound. Ho remarked that I had a wonderfully good pair of lungs. I may say that I am the same weight as when I wod the Sandow Gold Medal twenty-six years ago, that I have not a sign of varicose veins on me, and that I have not been in need of medical aid in my life. In addition to your system of physical culture, I took up at various times other systems —military and Swedish drill, club swinging, etc. —but I do not think any system can show such good results in body building and curative works as the one you advocate. —Yours sincerely, G.
