INJURIES ON RELIEF WORKS
ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVER. EXPLANATION BY MINISTER. (By Tslf'eraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 2.A submission that men incapacitated through injuries received on relief work should he maintained by the Unemployment Board until they were well enough to resume work was made to the Minister of Employment (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) to-day by the Counties’ Association. Mr Hamilton: replied: “The hoard cannot agree that this would he a reasonable charge on the unemployment fund. In any case the men are in exactly the same position as any other men covered by an accident insurance poliev in that ther receive two-thirds of their earnings.”
