Many generous donations have been received by the executive for the charity ball to be held on September 14 in the Winter Show Buildings at Ha worn. It has been decided to hold a modern dance in the Lloyd- George ballroom and an old time and national dance in the Kitchener hall. The Winter Show company has generously given the show buildings for the occasion. * These will bo elaborately decorated and furnished.' The electric lighting effects will be artistically arranged and the result should bo greatly appreciated. The public response lias been splendid, and practically everything required has been donated. The various ladies’ committees are at work with the decorations, which, when erected, should present a pleasing spectacle. Mesdames Hobbs and Laurenson will supervise the supper arrangements. The executive hopes that practically the total gross proceeds will be available for the unemployed relief committee in its efforts to alleviate suffering and to help the needy of the district.
