DAIRY BOARD ELECTION

VOTING PAPERS ISSUED. THREE CANDIDATES IN WARD 5. Three candidates have been nominated for the New Zealand Dairy. Produce Board in ward 5 and an election will be held for the return of one representative. All suppliers of dairy factories have been furnished with voting papers oil which appear the names of Messrs C. H. Burnett, J. R. Corrigan (sitting member) and C. G. C. Dernier.

The closing date of the election is September 13, and to facilitate the poll voters are furnished with an addressed envelope which must be used to return the voting paper. Should any other envelope he used the vote will be rendered invalid. Of the three names appearing on the voting paper the voter will leave uncancelled the name of the candidate for whom he desires to vote, cancelling the other two in the ordinary manner.

WARD CONFERENCE. When interviewed this morning Mr. Corrigan told a “Hawera Star” reporter that arrangements so far had not been made for the conference in No. 5 ward. The conference would take place probably at the end of September or early in October. Elach of the other eight wards also would hold a conference, but it would depend on. the nature of the business to be discussed whether the board convened a general conference of ward: delegates. Each ward would elect five delegates to he called together in Wellington if the board considered the business to be of sufficient importance to warrant the expense.
