HAWERA SALE OF WORK
EVENING SESSION CONCERT
The Methodist Women’s Auxiliary sale of work was concluded at the Wesley Hall in Hawera on Wednesday evening when there was a good attendance and excellent business was reported at all the stalls, the returns being almost equal to those of last year During the evening a concert programme arranged by Miss Joyce Dix and Miss A. Curtis and occupying about an hour was staged. The items included instrumental selections by Mrs A .J. Corrigan, Miss Elliott and Miss A. Page; vocal solos by Mr. A. E. Morris, a vocal quintette for ladies’ voices bv Mises M. Sunderland, M. Eimmitt, T. Cressey, R. Watson and J. Dix; piano solos by Miss A. Curtis and Miss E. Rang!, recitations by Miss Davidson and a humorous sketch by Misses D. Wills and J. Emmit,' The* president of the auxiliary, Mrs. L. J. Williams, occupied) the. chair and at the conclusion of the programme returned thanks to the performers for their assistance. Mrs. Williams also mentioned the services rendered by stallholders, and said that the pro reeds of the sale would materially assist the home and foreign missions.
