UNDER INFLUENCE OF LIQUOR,
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. Frank Mitchell, a shop assistant, of Riiooarton, was charged to-day with assaulting Leslie Goirdon Taylor at Hornby during a dance. He was sentenced to one month’s gaol by Mr. Mosley, S.M.
The sub-inspeeteor of police said that accused hit Taylor with a poker two or three times. He was under the influence of liquor. “Anyone who would use this poker on a man would either be not in his right senses or out looking for murder,” he added.
