BYRD LEAGUE CHAIRMAN. EXPEDITION POSTPONED. (United Preaj. Association—By Electric Telegrapn tlopyrigbt.l NEW YORK, July 27. Rear-Admiral Byrd has been elected chairman pro tern of the National Economy League, the movement to reduce governmental expenditure. He promptly announced that he would postpone his next Antarctic expeditionin deference to “his simple, duty.” He has called off the expedition for a year.
