HAWERA'TRACK NOTES. OFF TO OTAKi. (By “Limited.”) Bon Eve, Orby’s Choice, Kissless, and Davistock left Hawera by train yesterday , for the , Otaki meeting, commencing to-day. The quartette are in splenddi racing condition and should aiceount (for a share c(f? the stake money. T; Green is to ride Little Doubt in the Cornwall Handicap ,at Ellerslie tomorrow, Little Doubt promises to start one of the favourites. The Hawera-trained horses Mount Shannon arid Oallapat have been nominated for the Hawke’s Bay fixture on June 18, both figuring in the Hawke’s Bay Hurdles. Oallapat has also been nominated for the six furlong flat •event.
J. Fryer, the successful Hawera trainer who has been located in Glover Road for some years, is shifting into more convenient premises opposite the racecourse. ,
The final gallops of the Otaki engaged horses were performed on the trial grass on Wednesday morning. Kissless went,well in. her task over six furlongs in 1.22 3-5, but would have done better with ,a companion. Davistock and a companion went steadily over a round, sprinting home the last two furlongs. Orby’s Choice went from the sixfurlong post and was picked up by Oallapat at the half-mile.' Oallapat finished in front. Orby's Choice registered 1.193-5 for the six furlongs.
