CRIB EVENING. (From Our Own Correspondent). Tho weekly crib evening held under the auspices of the Opunake Bowling Club was held on Tuesday, a. large crowd being present. Good games resulted. Mr. J. Crofskv. winning with Mr.’ H. Parkes second. Supper was served bv the committee. YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB. 'l'be Catholic Young People’s Club held its weekly social in St. Patrick’s Hall last Tuesday night, many members and friends being 'present. Pingpong games and other competitions were played and a. supper was served by the ladies. MEN’S HOCKEY CLUB. On Tuesday night a meeting for. the purpose of forming a men’s hockey club was held in St. Patrick’s Hall, a large number of young men being present. It was decided to form a club, to be called the Opunake Men’s Hockey Club. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. R. S. Jenkin: president, Mr. Lodge; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Brooker, H. Whittington, J. Crofsky; chairman, Mr. B. Brunette ; hon. secretary, Mr. R. Seeker; lion, treasurer, Mr. C. Gyde; club captain, Mr. R. Baker; vice-captains, Messrs. L. Crofsky, C. Gvde; selectors, Messrs. L. Crofsky and C. Gyde. The club colours are to be green and black. The matter ©f fixing the annual subscription was deferred until i\, later meeting. RELIEF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Opunake Red Cross Relief Committee was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday. Those present were Mr. T. P. Hughson (chairman), and Mesdames C. 0. Edmonds, C. A. Smith, R. IS. Jenkin, Roberts, R. Ritchie, F. Hammond and Miss ,1. Lewis. It wits reported that the sum «-f £4 11s 2d was cleared out of the Surf Club’s dance, which will he handed to the committee. The committee acknowledged wto thanks a donation of £1 10s from the Bowling Club, the proceeds oi one of its crib evenings. . Blankets and warm clothing have been distributed as far rs funds will permit and ways and mea.is were discussed of raising: further funds. The committee requests any one having potatoes, swedes, carrots or other vegetables to spare to leave same at the committee’s depot doorway at any time as arrangements have been made for their collection. In future the depot will he open on Mondays between the hours of 2 to 4 p.m.
