JUBILEE COMMITTEE PROGRESS REPORTS A general meeting of the Manaia Jubilee Committee was held last evening, Mr A. H. Yarrow presiding over a large attendance. The ball committee ’ gave a very detailed report of progress in connection with the jubilee bad. It is estimated tliat approximately 400 couples will be present. The procession committee reported that there were very large entries for the fixture. It will he a record pro- J cession for the Waimate Plains and will include a special Swiss display, old pioneer vehicles, Maori features, tradesmen’s exhibits, and all kinds of fancy decorated entries. The marshals have every detail well in hand and the procession wall leave the Fire Brigade station at 12.3 G p.m. A vote of thanks was accorded Messrs Bennett and Sutton for a donation of £2 2s to he given as one of the prizes in connection with the procession.

It was decided to give complimentary tickets to the jubilee dinner to citizens within the Waimate County and Waimate town district who were living here 50 years ago and who are still living in the area.
