BRITAIN LEADING THE FIELD. Automotive products Great Britain now dominate the New Zealand market in both the pleasure car and in the commercial vehicle held. During the first quarter of 1932 the imports of cars and car chassis into New Zealand from all sources totalled 1004, and of these 873, or 87 per cent., were English makes. . The relative preference for the tish product in the market for utility vehieles was almost as great. The imports of chassis for lorries, trucks, vans and buses during the first quarter of this year aggregated 202, and 77 'per cent, of these vehicles were Elnglish. Official returns for the first quarter of 1932 ending March 31 disclose a complete reversal of the relative positons of British and foreign makes as compared with the corresponding period of previous years. Registrations for the quarter show British makes occupying first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth places in order of sales volume. The total volume of business during the 1932 quarter as compared with the corresponding 1931 qaurter, decreased bv 41.68 per cent. Foreign makes fell away bv 62.84 per cent., and British makes by 16.03 per cent.
