CHINESE BROTHERS’ DISPUTE
LAUNDRY £4OO APPROPRIATION. COURT ORDER FOR REPAYMENT, (By Telegraph —Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 24.
When Chin Fooi, laundryman, went to China for a trip he left his business in charge of his brother, Chin Quon Yep, but on his return found that his brother had appropriated £4OO. Judgment was obtained for the amount, and the sequel was an application in the Supreme Court to-day for the committal of Chin Quon Yep under the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act. There was no appearance of defendant. Mr Justice Kennedy made an order for repayment, in default three months ’ imprisonment, it being understood that enforcement would not be sought if the debtor paid £1 weekly.
