SOCIALIST NOMINATION. “WAR ON KINGDOM OF POVERTY.” (United Press As-scciatlon—By Electric Telt-grapl Copyright.) NEW YORK, May 23. Mr. Norman Thomas, New York, has been nominated as the Socialist candidate for the Presidency of the United States. His campaign, he told the Socialist national convention at Milwaukee, would bo relentless war against the Republican and Democratic parties and against the “kingdom of poverty. Mr. James Mauror, Pennsylvania, who for 16 years has been president of the Federation of Labour, has been named as the party’s candidate for the vice-presidency.
