The first Anglo-American women’s golf match played at Wentworth was won by the American foursomes. Mrs Vare and Mrs Hilll ’beat Misses- Wethered and Morgan 1 up, Misses Yanwie and Hicks beat Misses Wilson and Watson 2 and 1, Miss Orautt and Mrs Cheney beat Misses Gourlay and Park 1 up.' In the singles Miss Wethered beat All's Vare 6 and 4, Miss Wilson beat Miss Hicks 2 and 1, Mrs Cheney beat Mies Cbplett 4 and 3, Miss Fishwick beat Miss Orcutt 4 and 3, Miss Yanwie beat Miss Morgan 2 and 1, Miss Gourlay and Mrs Hill halved. The English girls played much below form, being especially weak in putting, while the Americans maintained their reputations.
ELTHAM CLUB MEDAL MATCH
