MANAWATU COMPETITIONS
CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS. The competitions in Palmerston North concluded on Saturday when the judges complimented the society on the success achieved. Further South Taranaki successes were as follow: Reading at Sight (under 16). —Joyce Goodwin (Hawera) 2; Nancy Turnbull (Hawera) h.c. Reading at Sight (under 12). —Edna Gane (Hawera) 1. Piano solo (under 16). —Audrey McLaren (Hawera) 1. Humorous Recitation (boys under 12). —Robin Holloway (Hawera) 2. In the character story dance, 12 and under Junne Goodwin was highly commended and Miss Marion Hamerton of Patea scored a similar success in the sacred solo open, for ladies.
