CHILDREN’S CRUISE
EIGHT HUNDRED ON LINER. FOR LANDS OF ROMANCE. Nearly 800 children sailed from Liverpool recently for a dream holiday to the lands of romance in the Canadian Pacific liner Montrose, a dream holiday in which they will see Gibraltar, Mount Vesuvius, and Cape Trafalgar, and many places in the Mediterranean countries of which they have hitherto only read or heard. The liner has been specially chartered to take the 800 children, representing 45 schools, for an educational cruise. But the joy of the young passengers was that although there are 250 school teachers and parents with them there axe no class-rooms in the liner. In case any of the children, whose ages range from 6 to 17, lose themselves when they are ashore, each one is provided with a card on which is printed a message in Spanish, Portuguese, and English asking any pens on to whom it is handed to call a taxicab or horse carriage and return the child to the Montrose.
