REMITS FOR JUNE ASSEMBLY. CONSIDERATION OF MILK GRADING. So far 19 remits have been forwarded to the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association to be held at Palmerston North in June, when milk grading will be a prominent feature of the discussions. Among the remits are the following: That this conference is of the opinion that the cream grading regulations should be amended to provide that all cream must be graded at the factory only.—Levin Dairy Company. That clause 22 of the Dairy Industry Amendment Regulations gazetted on November 15, 1926, be amended to read; “AH such whole milk cream or whey cream containing less than 32 per cent, by weight less of butter-fat shall be paid for at the rate of per lb butter-fat less than' the rate that would otherwise have been payable for it according to its grade, and all whole milk cream containing 35 to 38 per cent, by weight of butter-fat shad be paid" premium above that rate which would otherwise have been payable for it according to its grade. ’ Tamaki Dairy Company. . ' That the regulations governing the differential payments for finest, first and second grade cream be amended as follows: “Payment to each supplier of such whole-milk cream shall be so made that the rate shall be at least id, per lb. of butter-fat more for cream graded as finest than that graded as first grade, and at least id per lb. of butterfat less for cream graded as second grade than for that graded as first grade.—Moa Farmers’ Dairy Company. . ’ . ~ That in view of the low price ruling for butterfat, and also taking into consideration the various efforts being made to bring down costs, a substantial reduction should be made in the various levies made.—Awahun Dairy Company. That a vote of the producers be taken on the question as to whether the producers are in favour of the retention or 'disbanding of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board. —iui Dairy Company. , . , That the Government he asked to restore the cut of 5 per cent, m the wages of the lower paid workers. —Duller Valley Dairy Company. That in view of the preferential treatment received by New Zealand from Great Britain, and as Britain w practically our only market for produce, it k>e a recommendation to the Government that all British goods lie admitted duty free into New Zealand. —Taihape Dairy Company. That the Government lie requested to pass legislation to enable the Department of Agriculture to exercise closer supervision over the sale or stock medicines and remedies, to ensure that they be suitable for the purpose for which they are sold, and to prevent excessive charges for all such medicines, etc.—Tatua Dairy Conipanj .
