“LEARN TO FLY” WEEK
AIR INSTRUCTION CAMP. XF.jW PLYMOUTH INNOVATION. During a “Learn to Fly” week that is being arranged in New Plymouth an instruction camp for pupils and. pilots, the first of its kind in New land, will be held by the Ne w |O ' mouth Aero Club at the Bell Block aerodrome. Those taking part m the camp, who are expected to include a number of pupils from other _ clubs, will live at the aerodrome during the three days of the camp. The holding of the camp is « n original idea of the New Plymouth Club, and already other clubs have expressed keenness'to follow suit. i lie trainees will be quartered m the han-o-ar and in one of the workrooms, where special arrangements will >e made for accomodation. Meals will be cooked at the aerodrome and a hot water service is being installed Jhe men will go into came at noon on Thursday of the week and break camp on flic following Sunday. All the four machines of the Western Federated (N.T.) Flying Clubs will be at the aerodrome, and advanced instruction will tic given to pupils. j.his will lie undertaken liy the federation instructor, Flying-Officer lan Tveitb. Arrangements are also to bo with officers of the permanent staff of the New Zealand Air Force to give a series of lectures.
