LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. SEMI-FINALS REACHED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) ROTORUA, Oct." 13. Tire first semi-final in the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf championship was played to-day. in fine weather. The course was clrv. Results were: Miss Upton beat Miss Loughnau, 3 and 1. Miss Kay beat Mrs. Cooke, 4 and 3. Mrs. Guy Williams beat Miss Hocking, 3 and. 1. Miss Gaisford beat Mrs. Stout, 3 and 2. The game between Miss Kay and Mrs. Cooke was very even to the ninth hole, when Miss Kay, playing her best, gained the upper hand. Though Mrs. Cooke won the thirteenth the issue was never in doubt. Of the remainder of the players left in the semi-finals Miss Gaisford and Mrs. Guv Williams are showing the best form. These two meet to-morrow and the winner should on Thursday meet Miss Kay who plays Miss Upton to-morrow.
