UNEMPLOYMENT.

(To the Editor.) Sir. — T. would he pleased if you, could find space to allow me, to give vent to what I think is an Injustice done, unknowingly, no doubt. The cause for complaint is employers finding married women jobs, when their husbands occupy good positions. There are several instances that I know of, and while in one sense an employer cannot l>e blamed for wanting to keep Ill's staff who know their particular jobs, lie is actually keeping some one away from a job which would at least mean bread and 'butter. In sonic cases boys who have left secondary schools and who are ready, to take their places in the world cannot find •positions and their parents send them to school again. This, of course, means added burdens to parents who

'still have to support children who are o-f an age when they should be selfsupporting. If the employers would only realise that by keeping married women who have no need of positions, on their stalls they are- keeping some one more deserving out of a job, doubtless the position would be rectified. Perhaps when those people- eon corned read these few lines they will save their employer an unpleasant task and resign from their positions. X an1 ’ ete ‘* high, school.
