McDOUGALL BEATS MARSHALL
DECISION ON POINTS

AUCKLAND, Aug. 24. The professional wrestling contest in the Town Hall to-night between Scotty McDougall and Rocky Marshall was won by McDougall on points after each had secured a fall. McDougall gained the first fall in the fourth round with a. partial cradle hold with iliis legs. Marshall evened in the seventh round with a short arm scissors. The contest, was hard but not spectacular, and was witnessed by an attendane below the average.

CITY RATEPAYER’S COMPLAINT
WELLINGTON, Aug. 24. Objecting to what lie regarded as brutal and unsporting methods, a ratepayer wrote to the (Sty Council asking that the strictest control be imposed regarding wrestling marches in tlie Town Hall, the use of which, he says, should he debarred unless the sport is conducted on better lines.
The letter was considered by the council to-night, when the Mayor said he had asked the police to see that the rules and regulations were strictly complied with. If they were not the council would take drastic action. It wa,s not proposed to take other steps. Tin’s was agreed to.
