VINCENT WARD RETIRING
WILL NOT CONTEST ELECTION. DEMANDS OF BUSINESS. CRv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. Mr. Vincent Ward, who succeeded his father (Sir Joseph Ward) a& United member for Invercargill, intimated in the House of Representatives tonight- that he would not be contesting the seat at the general election. He hoped at some future- time to re-enter the political life of the Dominion, but at present bis business did not allow him sufficient time to do full justice to his duties as a member of Parliament. . Mr. Ward referred to the difficulties facing the country and remarked that lie could not see why there should not be a national Government with all parties represented in proportion to their numerical Parliamentary'strength.
