CAR AND CYCLE CRASH
COLLISION ON HUTT ROAD.
MAN AND WOMAN UNCONSCIOUS

WELLINGTON, April 6. Serious injury was suffered by two riders of a motor-cycle which came into collision with a motor-car driven by Canon Percival James, vicar of St. Paul’s, on the Hutt Road this afternoon. Those injured! were: Miss Irene Higgins, 169 Tasman Street, reader in the Government Printing Office—severe fracture at the base of the skull and abrasions. John David Buckley, 100 Tinakori Road, railway fireman—serious head injuries, fractured right foot. The motor-cycle, which was driven by Mr. Buckley, was coming towards the city from Hutt and 1 the motor-car was going from Wellington. The vehicles were at Kaiwarra when the accident occurred:
Both Mr. Buckley and; Miss Higgins were unconscious when picked up. Canon James was unhurt. The two injured were taken to hospital. Late tonight neither had regained consciousness.
