ACQUITTALS BY JURY
CHARGES THROWN OUT. CASES AT HAMILTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, March 4. Expressing a wish that they did not desire to hear the defence, the jury acquitted Henry Stanley Pratt, aged 19, of the charge of illegal carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16, at the Supreme Court, Hamilton, to-day. | A verdict of not guilty on both, charges was returned in a case in which David Mclvor, a middle-aged man, was charged with attempted breaking and entering, and with being found in possession of house-breaking tools. The Crown evidence went to show that the accused was seen at the rear of a shop in company with another man who had recently pleaded guilty to an offence. The defence held that tho accused accompanied his cojnpanion to the rear of the shop to share a bottle of beer after the offence had been committed. ,
