PICNIC AT TE NGUTU
OTAKEHO SCHOOLS’ OUTING. (Fi'oni a Correspondent.) The combined public .school and Sunday school .picnic from Otqkeho , was held at Te Ngutu Domain last Friday, the children being conveyed there by Mr. Baldwin’s lorry. The' weather was perfect and everyone spent a most enjoyable day. Mr. Burns (headmaster) and Miss McCarty (assistant teacher) had arrangements well in hand and, aided by an energetic secretary (Mr. Seh we iters) and the members ,of tbe school committee and other ladies and gentlemen, kept the races and sports going merrily until a halt was called lor afternoon tea. The Domain caretaker, Mr. Eevcll, as usual catered well for the comfort of the visitors, who all felt they had had a very pleasant day’s outing. The opinion was expressd, however, that the attractive picnic gi'ound would be made even more popular if the board could arrange for further accommodation at the pavilion, which becomes overtaxed when, as is sometimes the ease, hvu large parties make simultaneous visits.
