Aeroplanes and reservists were mobilised to-day to quell an uprising in Southern 1 Peru, which is menacing the Government. 'With a strict censorship effective, it is impossible to confirm reports that the entire southern half of the country is in revolt, but the Government has admitted that the city of Arequipa was captured by the revolting troops on Friday night. Several loyal officials were killed in its defence. ; Troops are now marching to Arequipa to crush the rebellion.
