HLAWERA TRACK NOTES. (iRy “Limited.”) Heavy rain made the plough track of the Hawera. course unworkable this, morning and the trial grass was used for any fast work—the sand track was used for pace work. J. Fryer gave Airtight, Copey anti Ora zone sol id na.ee. work; also the two-year-olds, Glad Star and Peter Jackson. ~ J. Brown’s team, Silvermine, Chiet Link. Awaken, Biflex and Whirl were all apportioned pace work. Bright Glow, Compulsory and Richfield galloped half a mile in 512-ssec. Bright Glow is keeping sound and finished a length in front of Richfield. O. Cox worked a couple of two-year-olds on the two-year-old track. Reremoana and Hampden sprinted three furlongs, down the iba.dk in 39see. The usual number of horses- were out doing routine exercise. 1 During the circuit of meetings at | Hawera., New Plymouth and Wanganui I just closed, local trained horses succeeded in winning over £I7OO in stake money. Martin Conway’s team with four wins four seconds and three thirds was the most successful, accounting for £6OO stake money. Royal Acre, with two firsts, a second and two third phi.cings, contributing £3OO. J. Brown scored three firsts with Chief Link (2) and Tenaore (1); the latter got a second and third placing. J. Fryer had a win and a third with Green Linnet; also placings with Peter Jackson, Goblin Market and Banibridge. W. Pine had. a winning representative in Calamine; also two. thirds with this consistent mare, while Tentcall ran into second and third placings. Orlby’s Choice, Galapat, Paparua and Kawhabinai were also local trained horses to secure place money.
