The Prime Minister (Mr MacDonald) and other members of the Cabinet met representatives of the Isational Uo - federation of Employers to-day and discussed the possibility of taking action to maintain good relationship with a view to getting through the present depression without industrial conflicts. The employers stated that no words from the Government could deepen their impression of the gravity of the economic situation. ‘ ~ , The Government subsequently met representatives of the Trade Union Council.
