WELCOME TO CHIEF SCOUT
G O VERNOR-G ENER AL’ S M ESS AG E YOUTH MOVEMENT COMMENDED-. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 20. The following telegram has. been sent to Lord Baden-Powell by the GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, Lord B-ledis-loe : “A hearty welcome to New Zealand. The Boy Scouts and Girl Guides are a. great asset to this Dominion in promoting among the young people qualities of enterprise, resourcefulness, self-denial and -self-respect, which were so signally characterised by its early pioneers and without which no nation can maintain its vigour and prosperity and no individual can attain complete happiness-.”
