EARTHQUAKE EUCHRE TOURNEY (From Our Own Correspondent.) Arrangements are now finalised for the big euchre tourney which is to take place in the Town Hall to-morrow evening in aid of the earthquake relief funds Good prizes have been procured for both ladies and men and there is to be a dance afterwards. There is also to be an ice cream stall, the proceeds of which will go to the same fund. GENERAL. Mr. R. Coleman, accountant of the Bank of New South Wales at New Plymouth, is relieving Mr. R. E. McGregor at Kaponga while lie is oil annual holidays. Mr. G eorge Court, of the staff of the Farmers’ Co-op. at Stratford, is relieving Mr. Claude Twist, of tile Kapoiiga branch, during his annual holidays. UN EM PH IYMENT.
Last week, under the Employment Board’s No. 5 scheme, there were nine men. and this week 13, given work. Of this number eight were married. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the local town board foreman (Mr. A. Melville) and is of a varied nature. A number of men are engaged in cleaning up on the ElthanT and Manaia Roads, whilst others are carrying out extension and levelling work in the cemetery reserve
