TARANAKI a. AND P. SHOW
ENTRIES CLOSE ON FRIDAY. Those who intend to exhibit at the Taranaki Metropolitan Agricultural Society’s 55th annual show should now commence preparing their entry forms as entries will close on Friday next at 9 p.m. Those who have delayed getting a copy -qf the -prize-list are advised to- make application to the secretary (\V. P. Okey), Box IS, New Plymouth, right away. Classes are available for all kinds of horses, cattle, sheep and pigs, while in addition there are numerous ring events and a sheep dog trial. Indications point to entries being up to previous years. Dairy farmers, in -particular, are taking a very keen interest in the classes provided for grade cattle. This is not unexpected because there are some valuable prizes to compete for. Pedigree breeders, too, are sure to support the show loyally because they realise that the show ring checks up their breeding performances more accurately than anything known. Moreover the show-ring attracts t-he interested public—-people who go regularly to see what progress -breeders are making. Therefore, there- is no better paying -proposition for the' pedigree breeders, be it horses, cattle, sheep or pigs, than an annual exhibition of stock at an A. and P. Show. The old adage '•it- pays to advertise’’ is as true today as ever.
