COMPILATION OF PE CORDS. PROGRAMME OF TRIPS. At a meeting of the Alt. Egmoiit Alpine Club on Friday evening it was decided to support the efforts of the ZNfew Zealand Institute of Horticulture to on. sun l the preservation of scenic reserves I,v the detect ion and punishment of those responsible for desecration. The , Institute advised Iho club that, it desired to recommend to the Minister in Charge of the department the names of suitable persons to act as inspectors under the Act. The meeting decided to recommend Messrs R. Svine, Hawera and 11. Murray, Elthain. Symc. re ported that he had catalogued the books, which were available to me--bers upon payment of a small fee. The library contained a splendid collection of 27 valuable volume*, 17 of which uric lent by him. The remainder bad been presenter! by members and sun porters of th r club Included in the collection were books dealing with • limbing in 'New Zealand, Switzerland uml South America, as well as all the ''""'bers to date of the New Zealand Alpine Club .lournal, purchased bv the club.
