PATEA
PLUNKET SOCIETY. On Tuesday afternoon members of the Patea and Waverley branches of the Plunkct Society visited Waitotara. for the purpose of forming a subcommittee there. The I’atea president (Mrs. T. E. Roberts), Lin- Waverley president (Mrs. I’ 1 . \’. Graves), the I’atea honorary secretary (Mrs. L. Honeyiield), and Miss Gibson. of the I’atea executive committee, were present.
Although the attendance was not large, many ladies had expressed agreement in forming a sub-committee and willingness in being elected to the committee. Many more names had been given in as those willing to become members. Mrs. W. A. Hurley was elected president, and Mrs. Clifton honorary secretary. Mr. Lee made the kindly offer of giving the Plunket Nurse dinner each day she visited Waitotara. Arrangements as offered, were made to meet the nurse at the station. The first and third Monday, with hours 1.30 to 4.3 d p.m.. were fixed as Waitotara days, when the nurse would he at the hall to advise mothers.
The Patea president. Mrs Roberts, gave nil interesting address on tin* aims and objects of the society. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, moved by -Mrs Hurley, to the visiting Plunket members for coming to Waitotara. The newly-elected officers of the new branch at Waitotara were congratulated and wished evorv success.
