CHAMPIONSHIP CROQUET
SOUTH. ISLAND FINALS. ■ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN. Feb. 11. The South- Island croquet championships concluded to-day in good weather. The final of the women’s championship was won by Mrs. Corbet (Punga), who beat Mrs. MacDonafld. (Invercargill. 26—8, 26—11. Mrs. Horn (Punla) won the o>pen championship after a struggle against Mrs. Corbet, 12—26, 26—19, 11—19. Play was of a high standard in the closing stages. At the conclusion, of play the cup presented by Mr. and Mrs. R W. McCreath, of Gore, was handed to Mrs. Horn.
