Rev H. Curran, of Hawera, received word ‘late oil Saturday evening that his relatives in Napier and Hastings are all unhurt. He has two brothers and several nieces, with their families, and until Saturday could get no direct news from them. He is naturally very much relieved. : N Messrs C. C. Ward, Ltd., have donated £25 to the New Plymouth earthquake relief fund on behalf of their New Plymouth, Hawera, and Eltham branches. Mr Percival Henry Pease, aged 72 yeais, an old Eltham resident, died at Hawera . yesterday afternoon. Mr Pease was born in Yorkshire and came to New Zealand 40 years ago, living in the Eltham district since his arrival.. He leaves a widow and three sons, Messrs Robert and Cecil, Omata, and Mr Percy, Eltham, and two daughters, Mrs Len Hare, Omata, and Miss Barbara Pease, Eltham. The funeral will leave the Anglican Church, Eltham, on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
