BOXING.
JOXE3-DONO V AN MATCH. After several postponements, the boxing contest between Tommy Donovan and Jack -Jones, of Hawera, will new be staged at Stratford on February 14. The matching of the pair has aroused unusually keen interest throughout Taranaki and opinions are very divided as to tlie probable outcome. Jones has never been in better condition since his arrival in New Zealand, and it remains to be iseen whether he has regained his old form. It such is the case, then Donovan will perhaps meet as solid an opponent as those with whom he was recently matched. As the Dominion title holder, Donovan has a formidable record, but he is not taking Jones at all lightly, but rather the reverse. Tlie amateur matchings were announced .jomc time ago and are of a very high standard.
