RAWER A TRACK NOTES. (By “Limited.”) Conditions were very fine at the tracks this morning and advantage was taken of the course proper being available to gallop a number of horses. The pegs were out the usual distance, about 40 feet, and the going, despite several showers, was excellent. Silvermine and Chief Link were first to work, but were not sent against the watch, a working gallop over five furlongs, accomplished in 1.10, being their portion. R. Brough’s Shillinglee two-year-okl and Ashes went nicely over four furlongs in 54 3-ssec. Cowan lea and Banbridge finished together over half-a-mile in 54bscc., but both horses could have improved on the time. Bright Glow worked a couple, of rounds of half-pace work. This bonnie mare is not herself yet and is unlikely to be ready for the local meeting. Joyspear and Gasnapper had their first fast work since racing and the pair shaped well over five furlongs, running tlie distance out evenly and finishing together in 1.81-5. Double Red worked on the sand track, whilst Isa did her exercise on the inside oval. luali’s youngster, Paparua, had no difficulty in beating the Hunting Song filly, Ripple S-diig, by a. length over haif-a-mile traversed in 54sec. Hampden was shaken up a bit more than usual in l his work and finished in front of his companion. Summertime, in a four-furlong gallop compassed in 54 l-ssec. Paitonu’s rider had a stick with him this morning, and the handsome chestnut was given a reminder of the job in hand whilst lie completed liis sixfurlong turn in 1.24. Paitonu has still some superfluous flesh to take off, hut is improving towards racing condition rapidly. Another pair to have their firstspeed work since the races were Boulogne and -Green Linnet, and this couple put up the best- sprint of the morning, running their half-mile in 53 1-s’sec. Bonogne led the filly slightly for the first two furlongs, but therewas little between them at the finish and botlr concluded the try-out in good stAle.

Miss Sheff scored an advantage over Anbridge at the jump off from the half-mile post. The latter gradually made up her ground and the pair flashed past together in 54sec. The two-year-olds Attentive and Peter Jackson and the Arausio filly sprinted two furlongs attractively down the back. Nominations for the local meeting close to-morrow. Already space is being booked for visitors.
