“AN UNFRIENDLY ACT.’
JAPANESE BANK CLOSURE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). TOKIO, Dec. 19. The Japanese Ambassador at Moscow has been instructed to inform the Soviet authorities that the closing of tile Bank of Korea is considered an unfriendly act, and to request the withdrawal of the order. The Soviet Embassy at Tokio stated that the Closing of the Japanese bank was in accordance with the fixed policy •of the Central Government to abolish the only bourgeois bank in the Soviet territory. It was reported on Thursday that the Russian authorities had suspended the Yladivostoek branch of the Japanese Bank of Korea, and had had the manager and other members of the staff arrested. This action followed' a month’s very close scrutiny of the books of the branch. It was understood that the bank’s operation interfered with the maintenance of the rouble exchange rate.
